Caribbean Sounds 10K Route and Description:

Rock Creek Park, Washington, DC


The 10K Race starts and finishes near Picnic Area 24 in Rock Creek Park. The route is well shaded with lots of trees and beautiful scenery. Prepare yourself for some inclines and downhills in this course. Let the music soothe your mind and relax and enjoy the journey. There will be a live band at the start and finish of the race. The route continues along some narrow paths and crosses over a historic stone bridge. With this route you will see the most beautiful parts of the Park. We will run near the Nature Center and continue pass multiple picnic areas. Water stations along the course with Water and Sustain Energy Drink.

Caribbean Sounds 5K Route and Description:

Rock Creek Park, Washington, DC


The 5K Walk/Run starts and finishes near Picnic Area 24 in Rock Creek Park, 10 min. after the 10K. We continue to the left through Stage Road following the same route as the 10K and turning onto Beach Road along the shaded route. Continue up to the halfway point approximately 1.55 miles. Loop back at the halfway point and continue back along the same route back to the finish line. You should hear the music during most of the route. Beautiful, Scenic and Shaded in the month of July.

Within Rock Creek Park, look for the start location near the Fitzgerald Tennis Center and Carter Barron Amphitheatre on 16th Street NW. Plenty of free parking for all participants. Closet metro is Silver Sprng, MD or Dupont Circle. You wil have to take a bus from this location to arrive at 3450 Colorado Avenue, most of the locals reference this location as 16th & Kennedy St. NW.
